Overseeing and ensuring compliance with governance standards and regulations in a public sector organization. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct within the organization's operations.
Job Accountabilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the organization's governance framework, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory and legal requirements.
- Monitor and assess the organization's compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Promote and uphold ethical conduct and integrity throughout the organization, setting a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Identify, assess, and manage governance and compliance risks, developing mitigation strategies and reporting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations, to ensure alignment with governance requirements.
- Develop and update governance, ethics, and compliance policies in response to changing regulations or organizational needs.
- Provide support to the board of directors or governing body in matters related to governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Prepare and present regular reports on governance and compliance activities to senior management, the board, and relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee or collaborate with internal audit teams to assess governance and compliance controls and processes.
- Develop and deliver training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees about governance, ethics, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with public sector entities and officials on matters related to governance, transparency, and accountability.
- Manage the budget for governance and compliance activities, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Responsible for ensuring the requirements of occupational safety and health management system and environmental management system are implemented and fulfilled by their respective units.
